	Understanding Bellydance			It suggests the initial centrifugal movement that creates heat and energy. Circular patterning is around all life forms; atoms, planets, stars and galaxies have been born out of a whirling vortex. The next step of the creative process reflects the splitting of the single circle into a fusion of opposites. The figure of eight in dance reflects the two interlinked circles, activating right and left, masculine and feminine. In addition, all forms and pattern in the dance are grounded by our lower body, like a tree rooted into the depth of mother earth.
	Bellydance consists of natural movements that work with the body in co-operating specific shapes based on the circle and division of the circle. In both science and dance the geometry of the circle is the blueprint of creation and form. Within the circle, patterns are revealed as energy organizes itself. In Bellydance every natural pattern of movement conforms to one or more of these patterns. Patterns in the music & dance can be seen as if mirrored by the creative process in nature such as the whirl, the first shape to emerge out of the universe.
