Pregnancy is a wonderful time of new feelings, new sensations and new experience. Belly dancing will intensify these feelings.

Bellydance can be a way to prepare women spirits, minds and bodies for childbirth. The belly becomes the focus of the body as life inside grows and develops. A pregnant woman can develop a more playful relationship with herself and her baby. When dancing, the woman feels more supported in her femininity and more connected to her body.

Belly dancing while pregnant can help women enjoy their body mobility and the strengthening of the pelvis, while developing the required awareness of the muscles used in the birth process.

As dance and emotions are so connected, the dance can help women feel alot more autonumous and self-assured about their pregnancy and coming birth.

In Bellydance Therapy there are meditative elements that help relax and release. Joyful music that can evoke a self-confident mood and the sensation of movement that can benefit the baby. Movenments that cradled and lulled the baby in the womb by soft, circling, roicking movements.

In my second pregnancy I enjoyed myself as I danced, taught and performed until the 8th month. Belly dancing is a major reason why my abdominal muscles are as good as they are, which helps the body in recovery after birth.
